Heritage:One of my Favorite Words

"Heritage" is one of my favorite words.  Every group I am involved in, camp I organize or class I teach, I always want to incorporate the word "heritage" into the name. I drive my kids nuts with this obsession, in fact.  But heritage is so important to me, I want to involve this focus in everything I do. As I see it, we have been blessed with the heritage we receive from our Heavenly Father, our family's heritage and the future heritage we are creating daily with our children. Each and every day is all about heritage...of the past, present and future. Everything we do adds to this heritage.  The prayers said with our children, mealtime traditions, daily adventures, favorite recipes, vacation memories, lessons learned, projects completed, whisperings from our Father, feverish nights, silly songs sang, birthdays celebrated, every minute of our living, it's all a part of this word I love...heritage. It's what we do with these moments, these weeks, these years, these blessings and ocassional trials,  that determine the outcome of our heritage! I love this tableau we have been given to create the outcome of our heritage. It's the small things, as well as the grand. I treasure the opportunity to introduce my children to the heritage of the One who gave it all, to create a treasured heritage together as we live out life and to delight in the promise of our heavenly heritage.
